At Frenchietopia, we firmly believe that matching the right puppy with the right family is the crucial component to ensure a successful adoption.
The Adoption Process
We want to get to know you and your family. By finding out how many family members there are, their ages, other pets, your puppy expectations and desires, etc., and by our sharing details regarding each available puppy’s personality, we can start that matching process.
Ideally, we will have you come and visit us, meet the dogs (adults and puppies) and chat, but unfortunately sometimes that is not feasible, so we encourage you to call us or email. Once a puppy has been selected, we will ask you if you want the pre-purchase exam option, fill out our adoption application, read and sign our extensive guarantee, and make arrangements (if necessary) with a pet nanny to transport your baby to you.
If the puppy is too young to leave, we will ask you for a deposit until the puppy is ready, and then we’ll send you frequent videos and speak to you by phone or via email with updates.
Since we are very selective with our breeding and do not produce many litters a year, we encourage you to call even when there are no puppies available and get to know us. We can always add you to our waiting list without any obligation on your part.
Even if you have a Frenchie from another breeder and still have questions, we are more than happy to answer them. We love Frenchies and want everyone to be happy with theirs.
Shipping Your Puppy
As much as we would like to meet all of our clients and have them interact with our puppies before a purchase, we realize that distance may make this impossible. For that reason, we can put them in contact with reputable “pet nannies” who will fly with the new puppies to their destinations.
We will never send our babies unaccompanied or via plane cargo or ground transport since neither are safe or comfortable. In the cargo of a plane, temperatures are not optimal for dogs, especially brachycephalic breeds like French Bulldogs, and they can quickly overheat and die. Likewise, ground transport can be lengthy and stressful.
After discussing fees and making date arrangements, the pet nanny will fly in the cabin with the puppy and deliver the dog to your nearest airport, making the process very safe and as stress-free as possible.
